In India, we’ll get the 7-seat configuration, which won’t be hampered by a full-size spare (like the old model) instead we’ll get a space-saver spare tyre under the floor. There is also a full digital instrument cluster. The dashboard design has been brought in line with newer Audi models, meaning it now gets a twin-touchscreen layout – one for the infotainment system and other for the MMI and climate controls. However, it is the interior update that’s more impressive. While these changes might not seem like a lot on paper, they really helped modernise the Q7’s look. With the facelift, the Q7 received a new and more aggressive grille, front bumper, headlights with new DRL design, new tail-lights and a reprofiled rear bumper. Originally slated to launch this year, the refreshed Q7’s launch has been pushed to 2022. Audi will be re-introducing the Q7 in India, though in its facelifted guise. It will lock horns with segment rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the BMW X1 when it launches in the first quarter of 2018.The Q7 used to be one of Audi’s most popular SUVs until it was discontinued. Xt-generation Audi Q3 could range from Rs 33 lakh to Rs 44 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). We reckon the new Audi Q3 to be launched in early 2021 It remains to be seen as to which engine and transmission configuration is preferred by the brand for the Indian-spec model. The 45 TFSI and the 35 TDI motors develop 230bhp with 350Nm and 150bhp with 340Nm of torque, respectively. The 1.5-litre 35 TFSI engine produces 150bhp and 250Nm of torque while the 2.0-litre 40 TFSI engine is tuned to produce 190bhp and 340Nm of torque. Internationally, the next-generation Audi Q3 will be offered with four powertrain options. On the safety front, it is anticipated to pack in driver assistance tech like lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and a park assist. Thanks to the new platform, the new Q3's cabin is roomier and features a new dashboard design with a modern touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster with virtual cockpit, repositioned aircon vents, and control knobs. The exterior highlights of the new Q3 include a new larger octagonal-shaped front grille with vertical chrome slats, Matrix LED headlamps with adaptive beam system and LED DRLs, five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels with size ranging from 17 to 20-inch, and a rear spoiler and tail lamps derived from the elder sibling, Q8. It boasts of sharper shoulder lines and creases than the previous model which is now discontinued in the country. Visually, the entry-level SUV from Audi looks beefy and more muscular than before. The new Audi Q3 will be based on the VW’s MQB platform, which makes it 96mm longer, 18mm wider, and 5mm lower than the first-gen model. Owing to the pandemic conditions, the launch was pushed further and now we expect the SUV from Audi’s stable to be introduced for the Indian market in the coming months. The next-gen Audi Q3 was last showcased at the Paris Motor Show in 2018 and was expected to be launched in India during the first quarter of 2020.
